CONUNDRUM

What is the best way to go?
on waves of patriotic glory?
Or magnificent shrouds of martyrdom:
surcease of agonizing pain?
Perhaps peaceful release from dull aging?
Is there memory of triumphant departure,
the glory of sacrifice that elevates a
soul to Seventh Heaven?
a sense of relief from pain,
perhaps escape from the doldrums of age?
Only faith can answer the questing heart.
